INSURANCE COORDINATOR / BILLING SUPPORT STAFF

FULL TIME - NON EXEMPT

General Summary : Verify and coordinate clients' insurance and related activities to maximize cash flow by verifying eligibility and benefits for the proposed program.

Schedule : Mon-Fri, First Shift

Location : Warwick, RI

Essential Responsibilities :

Verify clients' 3

party insurance / benefits including co-pays, deductibles and claims information by interfacing with payer agencies.

  • Determine clients' insurance eligibility for services within the scope of Thrive
  • Determine clients' 1

party liability and disseminate to appropriate staff.

  • Inform appropriate front desk staff and clinicians with service requirements and first payment fees.
  • Data enter insurance / benefit information and authorization in current agency software, generate documentation, and disseminate to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date payer contact information.
  • Verify and coordinate insurance eligibility for additional services and / or changes in services.
  • Coordinate insurance / billing changes as they occur with the fiscal office, front desk, and clinician(s).
  • Contact clients as needed to coordinate benefits and verify information.
  • Stay up to date with payer changes regarding authorizations and services.
  • Review e-mail account daily for new messages
  • Assist billing staff when needed , ie post payments, work denials, reconcile DCO payments and takebacks
  • Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive's Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Competencies :

Three (3) years experience working with government and commercial insurers; managed care companies, and preparing 3rd party billings preferably using a computerized system.
