Stock Clerk

Location : Fort Riley, KS, US

Regular Full-Time

Essential Responsibilities :

The Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and compiles stock records of items.

• This worker contacts local vendors and purchases parts and / or services once approved by government officials. The Stock Clerk sorts incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice;
• examines stock to verify conformance to specifications; stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material;

fills orders or issues supplies from stock; prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock; and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.

• The Stock Clerk also compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, location changes, and refusal of shipments;
• may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles; may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued;

may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock; and may cut stock to site to fill order.

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of U.S. Army procedures and logistics information systems.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to perform various production control activities including gathering and filing records, reporting on use of materials, monitoring customer requests.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to walk and stand on level and / or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow / knee and reach above / below shoulders.
• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
• Must be able to lift / push / pull minimum of 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.
• May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
• A strong understanding and experience in G-Army.
• Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
• NACI / CAC Required.
• Must provide a signed DD Form 3150 to confirm COVID-19 vaccination status and provide proof of vaccination.
