Terms and Conditions : 7 : 45 a.m. - 3 : 15 p.m. during the school year. Includes single health insurance coverage and retirement plan participation.
Salary : $250.00 per day

Oak Park and River Forest High School , or OPRF , is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, Ill., a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago.
We are a one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97.
We offer more than 200 courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 75 clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports.
We prepare our students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 94% graduation rate.

Summary :
Permanent Substitute is a Substitute Teacher who is assigned to work for a predetermined length of time. During the term of the assignment, Permanent Substitutes can expect to cover a variety of assignments in all divisions based upon the District needs as determined by Substitute Coordinator and / or administrators.
The Permanent Substitutes may also be required to perform other duties as assigned when no substitute teacher assignments are available.
Qualifications :
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsements in several subject areas preferred.
- Experience working with high school students.
- Commitment to equity, excellence, academic and personal well-being of each student and high expectations for all students.
- Ability to commit to working every school day during the term of the assignment.
- Ability to work effectively in both general education and special education environments, in any subject area.
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background check.
- Written evidence of physical fitness (physical exam) completed within 90 calendar days prior to the starting date, or within 30 calendar days after the starting date.
General Description :
- Report to the Substitute Coordinator upon arrival at the school building.
- Arrive on time to check in, review substitute plans and prepare for lessons of the day.
- Uphold all District policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject.
- Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures (including classroom management techniques) for the school and classroom to which assigned.
- Deliver lesson plans as outlined in the substitute plans or as instructed by administrators.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students within the assigned classroom and appropriately respond to all emergency situations.
- Check out at the Human Resources Department at the end of the work day.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
All substitute teachers must pass an Illinois State Police and FBI background check (at the District's expense) and must complete a physical exam (at the employee's expense).
