Who We Are Looking For :
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Crater for our Global Headquarters in Chesterfield, MO. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform duties required to pack and ship customer orders and presses in a safe and quality conscious manner, to correct order configuration and customer location.
Fabricates wooden pallets and crates for customer orders and presses. Split shift : 11 : 00am - 7 : 30pm
What you would be doing :
- Inspects customer orders visually for damage prior to crating
- Crates customer orders using razor blades, electric tape dispenser, packing material, pneumatic staple gun, weight cale, radial arm and panel saw, power tools, etc.
- Crates customer orders and press parts to ship to correct destination
- Builds crates for domestic or foreign shipment; cuts lumber and plywood to various lengths and sizes to accommodate product
- Electrically and mechanically disconnects and disassembles in-line presses into appropriate shipping sizes using hand tools, power tools, etc.
- Moves presses to the crating department using air float pads, forklift, pallet jack, etc.
- Provides dimensions on customer orders and presses to the Shipping Coordinator
- Attaches appropriate labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, safety, handling, and type of product contained in crate
- Loads trucks and or containers, providing bracing for maximum support during shipment
- Give freight handlers the appropriate paperwork (which has been prepared by Shipping Coordinator)

Carpentry
Basic mechanical abilities
Excellent communications skills
High attention to detail
Team-oriented
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function of the position.

Work Environment
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts.
Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and / or customer’s facilities.
Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
