The Masters School seeks an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller who will play an integral role in the Business Office, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the school’s financial records, while providing excellent customer service to all constituencies.
The successful candidate is an experienced, self-motivated, innovative, and engaged accounting professional able to assist with the School’s general and more complex accounting functions.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing and directing the School’s day-to-day accounting function.
Qualifications :
- BA in Accounting, CPA license or candidate preferred.
- 5-7 years relevant experience, independent school or other non-profit accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles including not-for-profit accounting.
- Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to research, analyze and resolve complex issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software systems and sub-ledgers, familiarity with Blackbaud FE and FACTS a plus.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently within a team environment, and as a leader.
- Skilled at communicating and working effectively with a variety of members of the community, including teachers, administrators, parents, and students.
- Commitment to the School’s needs; willingness to help at all levels to get the job done.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student, staff and school records and information.
