Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Mechanical Repair Technician I for our Miami, FL Landing gear Facility. Under direct supervision, you will demonstrate your use of specialty skills & techniques for testing, in depth troubleshooting, assembling, disassembling, cleaning, detailed inspection, final prep of commercial and military landing gear and hydraulic actuators.
This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.
2nd Shift : Mon. - Fri. 2 : 30PM-11 : 00PM
What You Will Do :
Proficient in the assembly and disassembly of commercial and military nose / main landing gear and hydraulic actuators.
Parts will include shock struts, Dampeners, Trunnions, Braces, Etc.
- Accomplish component maintenance manual repairs and IAW aircraft regulations.
- Test landing gears using rigging tools and Jigs.
- Using hand tools, torque wrenches, and measuring devices such as vernier calipers and micrometers.
- understanding of Core principles such as FOD control CI and 5S principles.
Qualifications You Must Have :
- HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Current or previous experience with blueprint reading and overhaul manuals for assembly purposes
- Ability to operate hand tools, electrical pneumatic, hydraulic and test equipment
- Current or previous experience with troubleshooting and testing mechanical devices.
- Must be able to use measuring tools such as : micrometers, calipers, height gage, hydraulic gages, etc

Qualifications We Prefer :
- Current or previous experience working on aircraft landing gears.
- A&P license or aviation degree preferred.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, Excel, and Microsoft word)
- Aircraft repair or manufacturing mechanic preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot & be able to use measuring gauges & test equipment
