Responsible for leading, defining, developing, testing and maintaining an industry leading proactive food safety and people safety management systems, processes and procedures that protect Inspire Brand's guests, franchisees, restaurants and brands.
Executing ongoing performance measurement and reporting to standards, supporting continuous improvement with operations teams and other cross functional partners while assuring design for food and people safety within operations, equipment, processes and procedures.
This position sits in our Atlanta Support Center or Boston Support Center, with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the OneInspire Food Safety & People Safety Programs team focused on a systems driven approach that is applicable for all existing brands and any new brands in the future.
Leadership in analyzing and assessing food & people safety risk and apply measures and controls to mitigate risks to an acceptable level.
Provides expertise and leadership to the design of new products, restaurant layouts, equipment, processes and procedures with risk assessments, establishing food safety requirements and review and approval processes.
Provide regulatory guidance and support.
Establish minimum set of standards, including prerequisite programs for both corporate and franchised restaurants. Ensure consistent systems are defined across the brands.
Identify and manage 3rd Party relationships and support providers, inclusive of identification, capability assessment, qualifications, performance measurement and calibration to brand standards and requirements.
Provide technical and subject matter expertise as required throughout the brands on all matters pertaining to food safety, people safety, and crisis management
Design, manage and support assessment programs, establish execution scorecards and subsequent metrics for all brands.
Establish & maintain relationships with local, state and federal health departments
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Food Safety, Food Science, Biology, Culinary, People Safety or related field.
Nationally Recognized Food Protection Manager Certification (i.e., ServSafe, Prometric, National Registry of Food Safety Professionals)
Certified Professional Food Safety (CP-FS) credential preferred (If not already obtained, credential will be required upon hire)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential preferred
5 or more years' experience in retail food safety, people safety, regulatory, quality assurance, food safety training or related food industry experience
Experience in restaurant operations, equipment, and sanitary design for safety
QSR experience in a franchise-based business model preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES
Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points, (HACCP), current Good Manufacturing Practices, (cGMP), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Food and Drug Administration, (FDA) Model Food Code, Code of Federal Regulations, (CFR), and general microbiology.
