Job Title : Journeyman Carpenter

Location : Avery Operations Center

Pay : $53.56

Hours : Day Shift 7am-3 : 30 pm

It is recognized that the Company is engaged in a public service requiring continuous operation, and it is agreed that recognition of such an obligation of continuous service is imposed upon both the Company and the Union.

Perform all duties of a journeyman carpenter.

DUTIES : (Essential Job Responsibilities)

• Work safely
• Mix, form, and finish large quantities of concrete.
• Construct and repair chain link fencing.
• Maintain substation yards in compliance with applicable curb codes and regulations.
• Clean up PCB oil spills within substation.
• Work periodic overtime and at temporary headquarters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS : (Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required)

• Must be a journeyman carpenter.
• Must be capable of working to close tolerances.
• Must be able to read engineered drawings and interpret layouts.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL driver’s license within 3 months.
• Must attend training and obtain PCB cleanup qualifications within six months.
• Must be capable of working without direct supervision.

The position for which you are applying is covered under the Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations as defined in 49 CFR Part 40 and 49 CFR Parts 380, 390 and 391 which became effective on October 29, 2004.

The information you provide on the form related to the names and addresses of your previous employers during the preceding 3 years, dates of employment, reasons for leaving employment, whether you were subject to FMCSA while employed, whether your job was designated as a safety sensitive function in any DOT mode, may be used and your previous employers may be contacted.

During the probationary period following reassignment to any job, at least two progress reports will be completed. These reports will be discussed with the employee by his / her immediate supervisor, and copies of each will be given to him / her.

Starting pay is listed in the job posting above. Salary range determined by the current collective bargaining agreement and may include step increases based on time in the position.
