Title : Commercial Underwriting Manager
Location : Texas
Responsibilities :
- Help analyze new and existing business including acceptability, degree of risk, loss history, and other underwriting information in order to construct an underwriting profit
- Make underwriting decisions in line with organizational procedures, binding limitations, reinsurance restrictions, and Texas Department of Insurance regulations
- Supervise the work of the Underwriters and Analysts
- Document and oversee procedures to increase efficiency and consistency in application of underwriting guidelines
- Handle complex accounts
- Resolve coverage questions, claim reports, any errors & omissions, and consumer complaints
- Share underwriting decisions to sales staff, insureds & applicants
- Communicate with cross functional departments
- Foster both internal and external business relationships
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of underwriting experience
- Management experience preferred
- CPCU designation preferred
- Able to work independently & within a team
- Able to train and mentor junior team members
- Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record
