Job Type : Full-time, hybrid (2-days per week work-from-home)

Description :

We are seeking a detail-oriented, passionate, and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Springfield, MO.

The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues, including teens through adults, helping them develop coping strategies, set recovery goals, and maintain sobriety.

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, offering both individual and group counseling sessions and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create comprehensive treatment plans.

This is a Monday - Friday position, with some evening flexibility required. 2-days per week are work-from-home via telehealth counseling.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse issues and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse and related behavioral health issues.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients and their families.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and connect them with community resources and support services.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Licensed or certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Missouri.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in substance abuse counseling.
  • Ability to maintain a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
