The VDC Designer II acts as the primary point of contact for VDC Teams on assigned projects while overseeing all relative VDC activities required to support construction and / or fabrication stakeholders.
This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, creating virtual models, coordinating VDC scope of work, and ensuring project alignment.
Some travel to construction projects may be necessary. Reports to VDC Trade Manager.
Responsibilities :
- Creates trade-specific virtual models using Autodesk Fabrication + Revit software platform for commercial HVAC & plumbing projects.
- Collaborates during the BIM Coordination phase of the VDC workflow.
- Generates detailed fabrication and / or construction drawings to support pre-fabrication activities.
- Conducts constructability reviews of construction documents.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for VDC Teams, ensuring alignment of schedules.
- Coordinates VDC scope of work with VDC Trade Leader.
- Monitors progress on projects to meet schedules and budgets.
- Provides guidance and QA / QC for VDC Designer 1 positions.
- Generates reports for client feedback like RFIs or RFPs.
- Collaborates with external stakeholders such as Building Owners, General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, and Vendors.
- May assist in developing estimating models for project pursuits.
Requirements :
- 3 years of VDC related experience
- 1 year of Fabrication + Revit experience
- 1 year of experience in Fabrication + AutoCAD
- 3 years of experience in relative field installation or shop fabrication activities (Preferred)
