SUMMARY

The Director of Asset Management is a Salaried Full Time position reporting to the Senior Director of Fleet Operations whose primary function will be to direct all asset and maintenance activities and staff throughout Standard Logistics’ locations across North America.

The ideal candidate will possess significant operational experience and knowledge in managing fleet operations to include : equipment procurement, leasing, maintenance, budgeting (operational and capital), fleet operations, capital planning and fleet safety.

This position is accountable for managing and leading all aspects of asset management and maintenance operations at all Standard Logistics’ terminal operations.

They are also accountable for setting and achieving a financial budget, strategic project execution (fleet growth), regulatory compliance, and utilization metrics.

The Director of Asset Management will create a culture of teamwork, adding value through excellent service to all customers internal and external.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Focus on safe operations and new technology available to drive a safer environment for our drivers. Drive the safety culture with direct and indirect teams.

Completes required reporting (internal / OSHA) and participates in investigations for all accidents or injuries involving trucks or trailers.

Work with the Director of Safety to identify risks, mitigate risks and develop a training plan for fleet operations.

Own Standard Logistics’ equipment lifecycle to include working with finance, operations and management on total cost of ownership.

Effectively manages end of life disposal of assets including agreements with third parties.

  • Manage an annual budget for maintenance operations, leases / rentals and capital expenditures.
  • Manage all vehicle regulatory requirements to include : registration, titling, permitting, MC / DOT registrations, IFTA, and any other required regulatory filings.
  • Evaluate team and operational performance, establish key performance indicators (KPI’s), publish / report on KPI’s and implement action plans to drive increased return on invested capital, performance, reliability and productivity.
  • Build and lead a maintenance organization and program as we transition from a primarily full service lease to a hybrid (majority owned) fleet.
  • Lead the asset utilization drive and work with the fleet operations team to increase, move or dispose of underutilized assets.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.

WE REQUIRE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain / Logistics management or other related field from an accredited college or university or 10+ years of experience in asset lifecycle, maintenance management and asset utilization leadership.
  • 7+ years experience in class 8 asset management.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management.
  • Ability to travel at least 30%.

Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications. Annual Salary Range : 135,000-172,500.
