Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned :
- Acts as Manager on Duty (MOD) in most cases, performing all necessary functions for successful store operation. The Shift Supervisor will take direction from the Store Manager and make key decisions on store resources and decisions to be made.
- Executes merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the stores.
- Drives engagement by communicating with customers and providing feedback and service results to associates. Resolves customer issues promptly and effectively.
- Oversees work assignments to utilize talents and abilities while maximizing profits most effectively. Ensures compliance with all labor laws, including lunch breaks and minor scheduling restrictions.
- Oversees established departmental procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise including inspecting the product when delivered, pricing accuracy, freshness and quality, and product rotation.
Enforces keeping of necessary logs according to company policy.
- Ensures associates work and operate equipment safely, complying with OSHA requirements and ensures compliance with price accuracy as well as weights and measures laws.
- Performs daily store walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and be visible and accessible to associates and customers.
- Supports and executes all company programs to achieve desired business results. Ensures that company policies are communicated to, understood, and followed by associates.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Shift Supervisor has direct supervisory responsibilities over multiple aspects of the store. They are responsible for ensuring all associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, the Associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities required :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. An associate degree or two years’ experience preferred.
