We are seeking a Vehicle Quality Specialist for Thermal Systems to lead the resolution of complex issues related to Powertrain Thermal Systems.

In this role, you will validate the effectiveness of hardware and software fixes, track customer satisfaction, and reduce warranty costs associated with thermal systems.

As the quality technical expert, you will analyze warranty parts, investigate field incidents, and work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service to drive resolution of complex issues.

You will work with cross-functional teams and communicate progress to leadership at all levels. You will be responsible for achieving quality objectives and representing the Voice of the Customer (VOC) to drive improvements in product, process, and equipment.

Your role will also involve define actions to lower warranty expense, develop inspection metrics, conducting vehicle audits, and feeding market quality experience into new model design specifications.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required is essential

You WiIl :

  • Resolve complex Thermal Systems related vehicle issues
  • Validate that Thermal Systems hardware / software implemented fixes are effective,
  • Track down customer satisfaction and warranty costs reduction impact with regards to Thermal Systems
  • Be the Thermal Systems quality technical expert
  • Warranty part return tear-down and analysis
  • Field incident scrambles and investigation
  • Cultivate a synchronized relationship with cross-functional stakeholders including Design and Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service and Quality with the objective of driving issues to a resolution
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams to resolution of complex and / or chronic issues for thermal systems in an accelerated pace
  • Consolidate inputs and material from cross-functional teams to create presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate progress and status at all leadership levels including the C-Suite
  • Be responsible for Quality Objective achievement (3Months-in-Service, Consumer Reports) for motor-control
  • Represent the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and drive feedback to Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams in order to catalyze improvements in product, process & equipment
  • Define and implement inspection metrics, constantly striving for higher quality
  • Vehicle audits
  • Feed market quality experience into new model design specifications
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

You Bring :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management or similar)
  • Technical Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant development and technical experience in HVAC systems, Electric powertrain thermal management and other relevant systems (Preferred)
  • Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based in a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset and strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong technical understanding of the fundamentals of electric powertrain systems, thermal management, HVAC systems and thermal control algorithms
  • Experience working with data acquisition systems
  • Systems approach to engineering product development, including demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience of engineering problem solving
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to drive decisions using data and metrics
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Goal-oriented self-starter and motivator
  • Field quality experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 8+ years of relevant automotive development experience in HVAC, EV Powertrain thermal management or other relevant systems
  • Experience in two full product development cycles for automotive HVAC and thermal management systems
  • Previous direct involvement in product launch for mass production
  • Experience with DFMEA, 8D, DOE other structured evaluation and problem-solving methodologies
  • Six Sigma / Black Belt
  • Technical Master's degree
  • OEM experience

Salary Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge;

skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits : Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and / or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$133,400-$183,480 USD
