Key Responsibilities :
Design and Analysis :
- Develop structural designs and calculations for buildings, steel, wood, concrete and masonry structures
- Conduct load assessments and stability analysis to ensure structural integrity.
Project Management :
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to define project requirements and specifications.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet client expectations.
Construction Oversight :
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams and resolve any structural issues that arise.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare detailed design and construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Compile reports on project status, including any deviations from the original plans and proposed solutions.
Regulatory Compliance :
- Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural considerations into overall project planning.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to foster strong working relationships.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Enercalc, STAAD, Bluebeam).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Familiarity with advanced materials and construction techniques.
- Project management experience and knowledge of construction processes.
- Experience with working with architects
- Familiarity with Microsoft products
