COBOL Application Developer (Remote)

Job Description

Ryder Logistics is looking for an experienced COBOL Application Developer to join their team. This application analyst will support all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle;

including but not limited to gathering and analyzing user requirements, developing and testing code, responding to outages, and creating application system models.

This individual will be owning the day to day support, maintenance and development of a legacy application related to FBAP- Freight Bill Audit and Payment.

They will be customer facing, working with existing customers as well as new customers. They will trouble shoot any issues that impact the applications operations and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization.

They will manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets. They will work with Product Owner to groom backlogs and provide capability.

This role will be a 50% development and 50% Production support.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of relevant software development experience
• Strong experience specifically with COBOL Development
• Strong experience with SDLC lifecycle from gathering requirements to development and support
• Must be comfortable with new development as well as production support tasks
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, DCL and FOCUS experience
• Excellent communication, strong experience being customer facing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working within Transportation Management and / or Distribution Management Technology
• Previous experience in FBAP- Freight Bill Audit and Payment
