Oversees the day-to-day management of the relationship between our sales teams and publishing / marketing / publicity. Involved in all stages of the publishing process, the Director communicates across all levels and departments and is responsible for helping to define and grow sales opportunities for this sales division.
They will also act as a main point of contact for sales representatives, sales senior management, and the publishers on any issues that may arise and for on-going sales initiatives.
The Director also plays a large role in planning, running, and following up from all seasonal sales meetings, and / or any other ad hoc or positioning meetings as needed.
Some of the specific responsibilities include :
- Analyzing sales reports for frontlist and reorder opportunities.
- Pub Goal setting based on current marketplace and publisher expectations.
- Communication regarding breaking publicity, drop-ins to reps and feedback to publishers, and operations.
- Working with title management, inventory and publishing to plan print runs and anticipate stock needs. Direct supervision of title management role.
- Leading title discussions in meetings with staff, marketing departments, and sales people based in NY and the Field.
- Coordinating seasonal sales planning and selling materials across all of PRH.
- Liaising between publisher and reps for material requests and other general questions

- Minimum of 7 years prior sales and / or publishing management experience with a knowledge of account base and inventory management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees across all levels and functions within an organization

- Highly proactive with the ability to adapt quickly to changes
- Strong sales analysis and negotiation skills
- Ability to regularly attend in-person meetings in the NYC office
- Strong knowledge of PYR titles and imprints is highly preferred
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
