POSITION SUMMARY The Systems Validation Engineer is responsible for the creation and execution of test procedures for both Map data and software products to ensure compliance with internal or customer specifications.
MAIN DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES Generate Test procedures for both map data and software products from internal or customer requirements Create traceability between requirements documents and test procedures Execute test procedures and document results Generate validation reports to document compliance to customer requirements to be provided with all customer deliverables Work with software / production teams to root cause and correct defects in both software products and map data Generate automated tools to detect map defects Program test scripts for the automated execution of software validation testing SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.
One (1) year minimum of work experience in requirements validation and / or software testing Strong technical engineering background is desired.
High attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong technical writing and clear communication skills. Good time management across multiple concurrent tasks.
Experience in GIS or map building areas is a plus. Automotive or sensor experience is a plus. Working experience with Python or another scripting language preferred.
Self-motivated, requires minimal direction to complete tasks Software skills (SQL, C++, Python). Experience with requirements management tools and processes (DOORS, Polarion etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Works in a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities and competing demands; potential setbacks in project completion due to internal or external issues, resourcing and re-allocation.
Regular office hours with some requirements for additional work during busy times. May work for long periods reviewing data on computer.
