RISE Academy is a subsidiary of RISE Education System, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Cognia.

It is our mission to promote the holistic development of the child through an authentic and experiential student learning experience.

This is accomplished by educating the child in the formation of faith, family, and community. RISE Academy strives for the development of the whole child by providing excellence in academic preparation in a faith-based environment.

It is our vision to guide and nurture students to become role models who will exhibit high levels of God-consciousness, professional excellence, and civic leadership by serving society at large.

We are looking to hire substitute teachers for the 2024-2025 school year for the RISE Academy Campus, starting in the Fall of 2024.

The teaching assignments can be in preschool, elementary school, middle school, or high school depending on the need and the indicated preferences of the candidate.

Responsibilities Include :

• Long- and short-term substitute teachers are responsible for :
• making every effort to be available for work when called
• carrying out the responsibilities, as appropriate, as a substitute for the incumbent teacher
• following the plan for the day's work as outlined by the teacher
• supervising students during recess and lunch periods
• reporting all accidents or injuries to the office
• submitting end of the day report
• accurately tracking time worked in the timekeeping system; the typical school day is 7 : 45 a.m. - 3 : 00 p.m
• other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills / Qualities :

• Strong teaching ability; enjoy working with children and adolescents.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in English.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with students and colleagues; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the community.
• Obvious passion for the academic subject matter being taught.
• Willingness to adapt to an existing curriculum as well as contribute ideas to enhance the respective academic programs.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• A clear understanding of and appreciation for the RISE Mission and Vision.
• Ability to work with various forms of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, calculators, projectors, and printers
• Ability to work with computer tools, including but not limited to, email, internet, word processing, and spreadsheets
• Ability to work in collaborative team-based environments

Preferred Skills / Qualities :

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in education, or related fields.
• 1-3 years of teaching experience in a formal setting

Pay Rate : $21 - $24 / hour based on experience
