MBS is hiring Project Engineer, Mechanical in New Berlin, WI. This position is a full time, direct hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the Product Lines Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes.
- Interpret order documentation including detailed customer specifications to determine scope of work and project plan.
- Ability to search company archives to find records of legacy equipment. Must be proficient in reading legacy equipment mechanical and structural drawings.
- Perform engineering tasks using established procedures. Create equipment layouts, undertake all necessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs and generate final mechanical and structural designs.
- Create detail, sub-assembly, assembly, and installation drawings necessary to satisfy the order scope.
- Write detailed work instructions to support field installation.
- Responsible for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and performance to budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with overhead electric cranes or similar industrial equipment preferred.
- A PE license or the ability to obtain licensure is a plus. The ideal candidate should have an excellent understanding of machine design and structural engineering practice.
- Experience in overhead material handling industry is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with industry specifications including CMAA and ASME B30 is a plus.
- Knowledge of welding and machining is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication plays a key role in this position.
- Should be proficient with SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to effectively communicate between frontline sales, customers, application engineers and project management.
- Site visits for application and commissioning require the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet off the ground.
- Travel estimated at 5% to meet with customers, commission equipment, and inspect product at various manufacturing locations.
Travel domestically and internationally required.
