Job Profile
- Responsible for the management and development of the underwriting assistant team. Hire, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning ensuring achievement of department service standards.
- Maximize staff utilization, capacity and capabilities to prevent business interruptions and backlog
- Monitor quality, productivity and service level turnaround standards to ensure service standards are efficient including : Drive the development of standardized workflows, processes, proceduresIdentification and implementation of process improvement opportunities to support consistent service delivery and goal achievement
- Responsible for ensuring workflow and procedural documentation is current and aligned with business processes and compliance
- Support complex data inquiries / investigations from Underwriting, Actuary, Finance, Premium Receivables et al.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to lead the design, implementation, and change management activities related to key tools.
- Assist in the development of Quality Assurance and audit processes to ensure application, rating, and underwriting activities are being implemented in accordance with guidelines
- Analyze and identify operational performance trends, gather data and prepare reports, as necessary
- Ensure decisions are guided by policies, procedures and strategic insight
- Provide input and reinforce business strategy; with guidance and oversight from manager
- Build and maintain cross functional partnerships
- Establish and maintain employee and department goals
- Perform duties in accordance with department guidelines and procedures
- Special projects and tasks as assigned
