Tetra Tech is currently seeking part-time Environmental Scientists, Biologists, Geologists and Engineers for our Denver operation.
Provide support on a variety of environmental projects and programs that are managed out of the Denver Operations. Task will include multimedia sampling (including air), oversight of operations, preparation of reports and tables, review of data, and other miscellaneous task.
These projects include emergency response, Superfund removal actions, remedial action sites, orphaned well plugging and assessment, due diligence (Phase 1 and Phase II assessments), lead based paint and asbestos assessments.
Work will include multi-media sampling, field audits and inspections, organizing and reviewing data, preparing reports, file reviews, collection of air monitoring data, training and exercise support, contractor oversight, and related services.
Responsibilities may also include training presentations, preparation of statement of qualifications and proposals, and other consulting activities.
Work for other government and private sector clients in these areas is also possible.
Work will include being mobilized to areas in the U.S. where the project support is needed, with mobilizations lasting 2 weeks to 30 days.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 1-3+ years' experience in environmental sampling / consulting or related field required. You will also have experience with / be :
- Multimedia sampling and field work preferred.
- Remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, ecological restoration, water resources desirable.
- GIS data analysis and geostatistics, coding (VBA, Python, etc.), and data management skills a plus.
- Working on EPA projects a plus.
- Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.
In addition :
- Passing a background check is required for this position.
- You must be able to on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Degree / Certifications
- B.A / B.S. in environmental science or related degree required.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires travel. You must be able to :
- Travel and work evenings and weekends (Saturday and Sundays) as needed, including up to 30 days at a time.
- Work outdoor during all seasons, both hot and cold, in all weather conditions.
- Walk on various terrains.
- Lift and carry field equipment (35 to 40 pounds) required.
- Meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
- Don personal protective gear as needed.
- Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
The Salary Range for this position is $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
