Position Title : DIETITIAN, SPECIALIST NICU - PEYTON MANNING CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, IN

Pay Grade : 13

Reports To : Clinical Nutrition Manager

Our NICU is growing! We are seeking a dietitian to join our team as we open a new state of the art Women's and Children's tower in November of this year.

This will be the home to 115 private, Level IV NICU beds and a new Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The NICU Registered Dietitian (RD) works alongside multiple providers to promote nutrition and growth in our Level IV NICU.

This includes nutrition assessment, nutrition support prescriptions, as well as education to providers, medical residents and families.

This position will provide MNT to inpatient NICU infants but will be developed to cross train in PICU, Pediatric Gen Med, and burn inpatients with a goal of developing the role as a pediatric dietitian.

Pediatric experience preferred but not required as each RD will receive extensive support and training via our pediatric training program.

• We pay professional dues for our RDs including CDR fees, Academy or ASPEN annual membership and state license fees!!
• Touchpoint encourages our clinical dietitians to pursue advanced clinical certifications such as CDCES, CNSC, CSO, etc.

We offer a $2,500 one-time salary increase for successfully obtaining an advanced certification.

Job Summary

Be a part of a growing healthcare system at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital as a Registered Dietitian Specialist NICU in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit .

Key Responsibilities :

• Duty of establishing individual plan of care for nutrition therapy on results of the comprehensive nutritional assessment, including immediate, intermediate and ling term goals of therapy.
• Verifies that infant feeding formulas are prepared according to the established guidelines, are administered in accordance with the prescribed therapeutic plan and are well tolerated by each patient.
• Instructs patients and families, when indicated, on modified diets; educates patients' families for whom outpatient follow- up clinic planned on home enteral feeding regimes.
• Assist with cross coverage in other pediatric areas when the need arises.
• Performs other duties as arises.
• Trains and mentors patients / resident services staff and interns as applicable
• Fosters teamwork and establishes effective strategies to implement innovative programs which leads to optimal clinical nutrition and financial outcomes
• Complies with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient / resident rights policies
• Participates in patient / resident satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications :

• Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist LDN by the state of Indiana
• Registered Dietitian RD with successful completion of coordinated program, dietetic internship, or other CADE approved experience
• Maintenance of RD through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Goal of working to become certified in a specialty area such as CNSC, CPS, or CSPCC
