Summary :
The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, implements ordelegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions inaccordance with established philosophy, providing and directingpatient care for a group of patients.
The Registered Nurse (RN)relates effectively with other shifts / departments for optimalcontinuity of care. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinicalsupervision for entry level nurses and assists in theirdevelopment.
The CVOR / Gen Surg RN will serviceboth general surgery and CV surgical lines. This nurse willwork with all the service lines that we support at WestoverHills.
Although this position supports general surgery theprimary will be cardiovascular based on patient census andscheduling.
This position is full time, includes on-call, andis heavily involved with the CV team. This position will workclosely with the cardiovascular surgeons, and cardiovascularcommittee, and supply chain to ensure high performance and patientassessment.

Specialized care includes orthopedic and surgical services, ICU,women’s services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascularcare from diagnostics to open heart surgery, vascular lab, sleepcenter, emergency services, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute,wound care, rehabilitation, and more.
The campus also boasts anOutpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of whichhouses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Programand CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.
Requirements :
- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid Texaslicense.
- BLS certificationrequired
- ACLS certification highlydesired / recommended.
- Current specialtycertification as required.
- Must have workingknowledge of the nursing process as well as in depth knowledge oftherapeutic, physical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, anddevelopmental needs for a select category ofpatients.
- Good communication skills, bothwritten and verbal.
