Summary / Primary Purpose : To protect, guide, stimulate, and help the children in the After-School program. To provide wholesome, character-building programming & supervision to school-age children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead and coordinate all after-school / summer programming including recreation, snacks, crafts, etc.
- Prepare materials and equipment required for after-school programming.
- Oversee youth participating in the after-school program.
- Build positive relationships with youth, their families, and community stakeholders / referral sources
- Consistently promote morale, productivity, and professionalism.
- Adhere and enforce all Corps policies.
- Ensure activities are documented including daily activities, reports, etc
- Communicate accidents, sicknesses, and incidents to the Director / Corps Officer in a timely manner.
- Willing to support and / or lead faith-based kids’ activities and programming.
- Ensure compliance with The Salvation Army’s Safe from Harm.
- End of the day cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing as needed.
- Driving is an essential role of the position.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities : N / A
Education and / or Experience : Must have 1 (one) year of experience working with school-age children. Fluent in Spanish is preferred, but not a requirement.

- Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- The ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
- Good communication skills both written and spoken, assist in building a relationship with the children and their parent / guardian.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Other Qualifications : Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : CPR and First Aid Certification and must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Working Conditions : The work environment will be moderate to loud at times.
Must be able to frequently be in the sun and / or outside in varying weather conditions.
