Our Facilities Planning and Analytics team is on the lookout for an experienced and bold Interior Designer to join campus operations.

We're in our *Expansion Era*, so we have a lot going on. You'll be contributing to the best mission and to our exciting Strategic Plan.

In this role, you will develop, plan and design the interior of St. Jude buildings and housing facilities based on the needs of the individual department and location.

Creating functional and aesthetic designs that help boost productivity or enhance a living space is very important. You will also be responsible for planning the use and layout of the space and decorating with color, furniture, fixtures, etc.

The abilities to develop drawings, presentations, and cost estimates are key part of this job, as well as coordination of contractors' work.

Must haves for interior designer :

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a professional interior designer or decorator
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field
  • Experience using ACAD or similar design software systems
  • Ability to produce professional-level illustrations of design recommendations

ob Responsibilities :

Creates functional and aesthetic designs. Meets with department leaders and facilities planners to determine needs. Creates proposals that include color options and cost probabilities for leadership to consider.

Develops drawings and presentations. Develops design standards, color palettes, fabrics, carpets and other flooring to be used throughout the organization.

  • Coordinates approval of design with the customer, including executive leadership and Board members when appropriate
  • Participates in new building or renovation planning to ensure design is incorporated in the plan
  • Manages placement of design elements and furniture. Oversees or coordinates purchase and placement of design elements.

Reviews and approves final placement of all design elements.

Coordinates the work of contractors. Oversees and coordinates the work of contract designers. Ensures design elements are ordered and delivered as necessary.

Collaborates with St. Jude Facilities Planning team to ensure new or redesigned areas are completed according to the approved design.

  • Implement signage and wayfinding associated with construction / renovation projects in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Maintains knowledge of current design trends.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.

Minimum Education and / or Training :

Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field

Minimum Experience :

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a professional interior designer or decorator
  • Must be extremely well-rounded with strong time-management and organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Strong and unique design talent.

Ability to read and understand various design software including AutoCAD. Ability to produce illustrations of design recommendations

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86,320 - $154,960 per year for the role of Interior Designer.
