Lead Structural Engineer
Lead Structural Engineering Professional
Under broad direction, you will supervise and lead a group of engineers and designers while assigned to the home office in Newark, DE.
You will provide technical direction over a group (2-15 depending on project), coaching and professional development of lower-level engineering and design professionals.
You will also be responsible for the planning, budgeting, organizing and controlling of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering program or an entire engineering program of moderate scope up to $200mil.
Your job role is responsible for all measurable assets such as an assigned staff, schedule, budgets and work estimates.
In this position, you will be assigned to the KBR Newark, DE office. Flexible work schedule will be offered, with remote and in-office workdays (Hybrid).
Responsibilities
Technical content on construction released structural drawings for structural steel and concrete
Preparing structural calculations for structural steel and concrete
Conceptual and final foundation design including spread footings, piles, and drilled shafts
Preparing construction specifications
Providing technical support during construction for all structural activities
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer License (PE), or ability to obtain one within 6 months of start of employment
12+ years of experience in structural engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to lead a small to medium team to deliver on commitments
Virtual team skills to provide interoffice execution support with general supervision.
