Major / Essential Functions
Performing a variety of duties in order to accurately and consistently portray specific types of symptoms as defined by a patient case.
This may include memorizing the history of their present illness, past medical history, physical exam results as well as demonstrating appropriate body language, emotional status, and personality characteristics.
- Simulate a variety of clinical scenarios including a patient's appearance, demeanor and affect, communication style, chief complaint, symptomatology, patient medical history, and physical finding.
- Demonstrate interviewing skills with students of the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, or other students utilizing the simulation center.
- Instruct and practice interviewing and some superficial physical assessment skills with medical students.
- Give feedback after interviewing the student.
- Evaluate and assess the student's skills.
- Deliver feedback in person verbally, written, or electronically.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer skills.
- Prior experience in a simulation environment.
Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
