Position Summary
Leadership and management of a Clinical and Behavioral Health Transfer Center Staff and program management. Average number of assigned staff is 50-80.
Responsible for the daily operations of the PLC including all direct / indirect transfer center issues. exercises covering a wide variety of threat, hazard, and risk scenarios.
Determines the need for EM plan and procedural changes. Provides direct leadership to effectively manage emergencies at the System-level, such as regional natural disasters, multi-location incidents, and critical emergencies.
Where appropriate, directly leads emergency response at a system-level or acts in support of the designated System Incident Commander.
Develops and implements policies and programs that prepare the organization for significant disruption, ensures consistency in the EM program across the system, and meets Joint Commission and other compliance requirements.
Coordinates with local, state, and federal EM officials. Develops and oversees public-private partnerships that benefit the System.
Maintains expert knowledge of Texas Health’s processes and hazards, interfaces with engineering and operations staff to ensure the appropriate development of healthcare channel, facility, and site-specific hazard and emergency classification procedures.
Prepares technical reports based on the expert interpretation of analyzed data.
