  • $17.50 / hour (customer may be willing to consider more based on experience)*What’s a typical day as an Purchasing Agent? You’ll be : *
  • Placing and preparing orders with vendors
  • Responding to customer’s needs
  • Purchasing items within guidelines
  • Evaluating vendor quotes.
  • Analyzing inventory levels
  • Implementing strategies for cost savings, price negotiation, inventory turns, and timely delivery.
  • Expediting material into facility.
  • Developing and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Assisting Quality Assurance in auditing and approving all Vendors through on-site visits or by vendor survey forms and reviewing past performance.
  • Communicating with the quality and sales departments and vendors to change orders, handle rejections, and respond to Corrective Action.
  • Participating in special projects and perform additional duties as required. *This job might be a great fit if you have : *
  • A College Degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing thousands of various part numbers.
  • Experience in using a multi-line phone system, copier, scanner and fax machines.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Programs especially in excel and creation of charts and graphs.
  • The ability to speak clearly and communicate with others (both written and verbal).
  • A basic understanding of mathematic calculations. Must understand and be able to convert units of measure.
  • Advanced clerical skills including organizational skills, filing ability, documentation control, checking, and coding.
  • Good memorization (ability to use logic and reasoning to problem solve, price and negotiate).
