Essential Functions :
- Answering incoming telephone calls for the Medical Records Department.
- Providing full-time coverage for the medical records station located in the front lobby of the 110 South 17th Street facility to assist with information requests.
- Obtain paperwork daily from departments for scanning into the patient’s electronic health record.
- Assist patients with accessing the patient portal.
- Process paperwork for completion requests. Complete the paperwork for completion form and ensure tracking spreadsheet is maintained and accurate.
Review the policies for paperwork completion with the patient; explain the processing time.
- Sorting incoming faxes received for Medical Records Department.
- Assist in the facilitation of partial and / or complete record requests by obtain name of facility and patient / legal guardian’s signature.
Review the policies for the ROI processing with the patient; explain the processing time.
Performing other administrative tasks when needed.
Requirements :
- Healthcare Knowledge : A fundamental understanding of healthcare services and basic medical terminology.
- Tech-Savvy : Proficiency in basic data entry computer skills.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills : Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Team Player : An industrious and cooperative nature to foster harmonious working relationships with clinic management, physicians, clinicians, and the public.
- Education : High school graduate, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications :
- One (1) year of clerical and customer service experience, preferably with medical records focus.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, Nepali, French
