We are seeking a Chemist to our Analytical Development & Testing department (ADT) here at Recipharm RTP. The level of the position will be based on qualifications and experience.
Key responsibilities will be :
- Performing analytical testing associated with aerosol characterization of metered dose inhalers, dry powder inhalers, solutions and suspensions for nebulization, and nasal products utilizing HPLC and GC
- Documenting laboratory work carefully per SOPs and cGMPs.
- Assisting in the development and qualification of chromatography and inhalation test methods.
- Analyzing data and writing reports, protocols, test methods, SOPs, and other documents.
- Maintaining a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor degree in chemistry, biological sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, or related fields
- 4 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in Chromatographic analysis (HPLC) in a GMP environment
- A thorough understanding of general laboratory procedures to reliably conduct analyses and operate lab instrumentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for reporting experimental results.
- Self-motivated, and well organized with excellent time management abilities.
- Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Inhaled product testing (e.g. cascade impaction, delivered dose, spray characterization) and cGMP contract lab experience
- Experience with equipment such as coulometric Karl Fischer, FT-IR, osmometer, Gas Chromatograph
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel functions
- Creative thinking and problem solving skills
Physical Requirements :
All Chemist positions must possess the ability to stand and / or walk for up to 8 hours a day and carry up to 25 pounds. This position involves repetitive motion of the arm, wrist, hand and fingers with the ability to feel and handle work materials for up to 8 hours per day.
The position also requires the ability to carry out tasks involving extensive reaching, crouching, and bending. Day to day tasks may involve handling of and the ability to identify hazardous chemicals and materials.
