Overview of the Role :
As the Nurse Manager for the Pediatrics Congenital Heart ICU, you will play a critical role in managing departmental functions to align with the mission, vision, and goals of the healthcare facility.
Leveraging your nursing expertise, you will ensure patient safety and uphold clinical excellence within the Cardiovascular ICU.
You will be instrumental in decision-making processes, fostering partnerships with patients and families, and coordinating high-quality care for patients from neonates to 18 years old.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure patient safety and clinical practice excellence in the Cardiovascular ICU environment.
- Implement effective communication strategies and information management in daily operations.
- Foster partnership development with patients, their families, and significant others.
- Lead and facilitate continuity and coordination of care across various healthcare settings.
- Maintain specialized care that adheres to the standards for age and development specific to neonates through 18 years.
- Develop and initiate department-specific projects and continuous process improvements.
- Cultivate a collaborative practice environment with all healthcare team members.
- Oversee management of diverse personnel levels, budgetary planning, payroll, and physician relationships.
- Serve as a liaison between the hospital, community, and other institutions.
- Optimize the use of human and material resources.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Completion of an accredited RN program.
- Valid RN license in the State of Texas or a COMPACT nursing state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) minimum; advanced degree preferred.
- Both BLS and PALS certifications are required.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with consideration given to candidates with 2 years of supervisory level experience.
