Responsibilities :
Purpose of Your Position
This is an administrative support position that regularly assists managerial operation of the clinic by effectively greeting and managing the collection of relevant data during the patient registration process.
Will manage, track, maintain, and collect documentation necessary for successful completion of the billing process.

Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.
Verifies confidential commercial insurance information and Medicaid eligibility daily and obtains insurance carrier referrals and pre-authorizations.
Makes independent decisions determining if patient can receive services based on information obtained from verification results.
Coordinates all necessary follow-up with physicians and patients regarding eligibility. Instructs patient in steps needed to follow with insurance carrier.
Review clinic appointments : oversees and verifies data entry information (biographical data and insurance information), contact scheduled patients via telephone on and before appointment date
Maintain and update computer information system (Tel., insurance, service, diagnostic coding etc.). Notify departments of changes in patient eligibility status.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation of insurance cards, collections via check and / or credit card. Accept payments, provide receipts and log payments when needed.
General clerical duties : daily data entry, photocopying, faxing, typing, filing and telephone duties.
Interaction daily with patients’ families regarding information needed for services
Perform routine tasks related to the ESCR program as deemed necessary by supervisor or ESCR executive staff.
Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
Comply with established ESCR policies and procedures re : quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, confidentiality of patient information, customer service, attendance, punctuality, dress code, professional conduct, annual health assessments etc.
Participates in all departmental in-services and staff development activities

Qualifications :
Education Requirements :
High School Diploma & GED Required
Minimum of 2 years college or associates degree preferred
Experience :
2 years’ experience in an outpatient pediatric environment preferred
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills required
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred
Employee Requirements :
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Working Conditions :
Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area.
Will be subject to frequent interruptions.
May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
Hourly Rate Range :
$22.50 / Hr. To $24.00 / Hr.
