Peninsula Plastics is rapidly expanding and we are looking to add a Production Supervisor on our 1st shift to our team in Pontiac.

Location(s) : must be able to commute to BOTH locations (Pontiac and Auburn Hills located 1 mile from each other)
Shift : 1st shift from 5 : 00AM to 3 : 30PM Monday to Thursday (OT on Friday and Saturday)
Pay : Hourly - $60,000 to $80,000 per year
Description :
Our company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join our team as a Thermoforming Production Supervisor.
Supervisors are in charge of leading teams of 10-35 people operating Thermoforming machinery. Supervisors work closely with management to meet customer deadlines while maintaining a positive and safe environment.
Reports to : President / CEO, VP of Engineering
Responsibilities :
- Manage a team of production personnel at two facilities
- Training production team members in safety, proper production practices, and quality standards
- Ensure product being produced adheres to quality and labor standards
- Enforce and improve labor efficiencies
- Ability to motivate hourly employees to be productive and maintain good attendance
- Work directly with the quality department and have a good understanding of the QMS to produce quality products
- Interact with all levels of management and hourly employees
- Track products being produced in the manufacturing progress to ensure each step of the process is followed correctly
- Ensure all materials are staged and available when needed
- Create corrective action plans to reduce the repetition of incidences
- Follow company safety policies
- Follow production schedules
- Perform employee administrative duties such as scheduling, employee discipline, performance reviews, etc
Qualifications :
- Recent experience in Plastics or Thermoforming is required
- Experience with implementation of change / improvement processes
- Development of training programs for production workers
- Previous experience plant operations
- Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
- Strong Organization Skills
- Strong Leadership Skills
- Familiarity with plant tools and equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Ability to Lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
