Job Description Summary

The HR Generalist in Workforce Experience supports the employer / partner-employee relations of our Global Workforce (supported- / paid-staff, volunteers and interns).

Together with the Senior Director and workgroup members, this generalist ensures staff and staff relations are healthy, thriving and flourishing as staff realize their call to advance Bible Translation.

Additionally, this generalist will ensure systems, processes and communication reflect our organizational / team ethos, while remaining responsive to internal / external partners and attaining greater missional effectiveness.

This Generalist partners with the Senior Director of WorkforceExperience and other workgroup members to facilitate day-to-day functions of the Staff Experience workgroup, as assigned.

Minimum Spiritual and Personal Commitment :

Establish and maintain a team of prayer partners (minimum 3-5 partners) who commit to praying for you as you respond and commit to your season of ministry at Wycliffe.

Actively participate in corporate prayer and devotional times such as weekly team devotionals, Entermission, Scripture Celebrations, Spiritual Retreats and World Day of Prayer.

Maintain an exemplary standard of Christian ethics, behavior and conduct within Wycliffe and in your public and private life outside of Wycliffe, and agree to abide by Wycliffe’s ethics, behavior and conduct standards at all times.

Demonstrate Christian maturity in all interactions as displayed by good judgment based on biblical values and principles.

Actively incorporate your Christian faith, as well as Wycliffe’s beliefs and core values in all aspects of your daily work.

Job Responsibilities :

Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for unreached people groups around the world.

Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.

Collaborate on HR initiatives to provide a best-in-class work experience for Wycliffe USA candidates and staff, prioritizing relationships over tasks to ensure excellence in service delivery to constituents.

Work collaboratively with the Senior Director and HR Director to shepherd staff through employee relations, reconciliation processes, performance management, and HR training and coaching processes.

Resource and support partners to effectively engage and manage employee relations.

Collaborate on efforts and strategies that improve employee’s understanding, adoption and reflection of our values and policies, which contribute to the member experience with partnering organizations to ensure employee care.

Hold staff accountable to HR policies and procedures to ensure all actions comply with internal / external standards. Convey employment information, guidelines and laws to staff as deemed appropriate.

Act as a liaison between HR and staff, ensuring smooth and timely communication and prompt resolution to inquiries or requests for assistance.

Coach and support staff through HR protocols to ensure the employee-supervisor / employer / partner relationship is strong and resilient.

Maintain and submit documentation, correspondence, files, records, and reports on inquiries, developments and resolutions accurately and in accordance with records management protocols.

Aid in the development of training and maintain working knowledge of HR best practices, employee handbook, policies and procedures.

Conduct ongoing assessments to ensure alignment of efforts with protocols and expectations.

Support the performance appraisal processes with a high level of whole-person care, professionalism and efficacy.

Partner in conflict management and reconciliation processes that build greater trust, unity and harmony amongst employees, supervisors and / or teams.

Provide input and support in implementing HR best-practices.

Promote team and organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards and demonstrating spiritual maturity.

Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Workforce Experience, HR Director and / or Vice President of Human Resources.

Travel Requirements : Some domestic and international travel may be expected for this position.

Schedule Requirements : Ability and willingness to alter work schedule in order to work off-hours as needed in order to work across time zones.

Physical Demands : Ability to spend significant amounts of time using a computer, video conferencing software, and / or phone.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in human resources; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Familiarity with the Wycliffe / SIL context and ministry service preferred. SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Compensation and Benefits :

Wycliffe Bible Translators is a non-profit Christian organization. Wycliffe’s purpose-driven culture allows you to use your gifts and talents to serve the global work and ministry of Bible translation.

The hiring range for this position is $54,448.87-$63,296.81. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

The actual pay rate will be based on various factors such as qualifications, skills and experience, required training, licensure and / or certifications, budget, and location, if applicable.

Additionally, the range for this position is based upon and considers Wycliffe’s non-profit ministry environment.
