The Vivarium Animal Aide maintains a clean, compliant and well-stocked facility to support preclinical gene therapy research.
The Vivarium Animal Aide works directly with and assists the Animal Care Specialist, Colony Management Specialists, and Vivarium Manager in Vivarium.
This position requires contact with significant animal dander that may result in sensitization to allergens or exacerbate pre-existing allergies.
In light of this, Sarepta requests that individuals not apply for this position who have known allergies to rats and / or mice or animal dander generally.
Individuals with allergies to any of the previously named species of animals may be deemed unsuitable for this job.
Primary Responsibilities Include :
- Maintain cleanliness of facility through daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning activities.
- Perform general cage wash and autoclaving activities.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies, including regularly stocking PPE areas, cage supplies, etc.
- Assist with QCing of animal racks.
- Communicate thoroughly and regularly with other staff members.
- Performs job duties as required with all proper documentation of activities.
- Adhere to, with a strong understanding, of standard operating procedures / guidelines regarding personnel and animal safety.
Desired Education and Skills :
- High School diploma required.
- ALAT preferred, or ability to achieve ALAT status within 2 years.
- Must be able to work on rotating weekend / holiday schedule for vivarium coverage Passionate about animal welfare.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications; Word, Excel, Outlook systems.
- Ability to strictly adhere to laboratory methods and SOPs.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and ability to follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize shifting demands and workload.

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States.
The targeted salary range for this position is $36,000 - $45,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges.
The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
