More about what your day-to-day may look like :
- Research, create, and maintain comprehensive technical product manuals, parts sales catalogs, specifications, and bulletins that are appropriate for the intended audience
- Work closely with various departments to ensure finished documentation meets requirements.
- Develop and maintain content with a consistent format across all documentation channels
- Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to communicate complex product information into simple, professional, and engaging content for greatest comprehension
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
- Create graphics, illustrations, or photographs to elaborate on or complement technical writing
- Create, adapt, and follow project schedules and deadlines
- Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
- Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation
Qualifications
- Championing attitude regarding customer service
- 1-3 years’ experience as an effective technical writer
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable using text, graphics, illustrations, and photographs
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent electrical and mechanical skills required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must work well in a team environment
- Previous CAD experience a plus
- Previous mechanical or electrical design experience a plus
