Overview
A large utility is looking for a CAD Designer. The CAD Designer is responsible for updating engineering drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation, managing electrical engineering records, and supporting drafting and configuration management for capital projects, primarily in the office.
This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm.
Schedule : hybrid (Mon, Tues, Thurs working in-office; Wed, Fri working remotely)
Job Description :
The CAD Designer is responsible for correcting / modifying construction drawings and supporting drawing updates with varying complexity utilizing AutoCAD or MicroStation.
This individual must understand how to use AutoCAD and must understand mark-ups.
Key Responsibilities
- Correct / modify AutoCAD and MicroStation designs within ProjectWise.
- Track drafting requests in a database to completion.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as an independent contributor with minimal supervision at the assigned physical work location.
- 1+ years of experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience with electric utility a PLUS.
- Experience using MicroStation a PLUS.
- Experience working with ProjectWise a PLUS.
Education
- Associate’s degree or certification in CAD; complete coursework in AutoCAD may also be considered
