Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Archaeologist to work out of our Salt Lake City, Utah office.
This is primarily an office-based position (at least 75% of time) focused on management and processing of a variety of large and complex datasets and report and site form production, as well as some opportunity for fieldwork (up to 25% of time).
Responsibilities Include :
- Conduct online and in-person research.
- Assist in the preparation of technical archaeological reports.
- Prepare report-ready site descriptions from field data.
- Produce electronic site forms.
- Assist with office tasks that include, but are not limited to, data management, background research, data entry, and other similar tasks.
- Assist in management of electronic field devices such as tablets and GPS units (uploads and downloads), as needed.
- Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Interact and work well as a team member.
Position Requires :
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or closely related field or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of archaeology experience in the Great Basin or Southwest.
- Ability to work in our office based in Salt Lake City.
- Excellent writing and organization skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to follow the direction of supervisors.
- Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with the WildNote digital data collection system and iOS-based software.
- Previous experience preparing archaeological site forms and technical reports.
- Working knowledge of the National Register of Historic Places and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
Compensation :
This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis between $45,760 to $56,160 annually, depending on experience and education.
