Job Type

  • Full-time, non-supervisory.

This is a remote position within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and supporting telco voice service solutions, including premise-based and cloud-based solutions from Alianza, Metaswitch, Ribbon, Sinch, and TelcoBridges, among others.
  • Lead / manage projects of varying complexity, which may be cross-departmental.
  • Performing system upgrades and subscriber migrations.
  • Directly working with clients to troubleshoot issues in existing systems.
  • Documenting and diagramming networks, relevant processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Communicating technical concepts clearly and understandably.
  • Keeping up with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices.
  • Improving knowledge and expertise through independent research, practice, and industry-accepted certifications.
  • THIS IS A ON CALL AS NEEDED ROLE

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • A strong understanding of telco voice principles is a must.
  • Proficiency with both TDM and SIP / VoIP technologies is a must.
  • Understanding networking concepts and IP networks is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with voice equipment from vendors such as Genband / Ribbon, Metaswitch, TelcoBridges, and related management systems is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with session border controllers.
  • Understanding of DC power systems.
  • Understanding of safety practices in a central office environment.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computers and the Office product suite is a must.
  • Good oral and written communication is a must.
  • Ability to work as part of a team is a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills is a must.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects is a must.
  • Attention to detail and good judgment are a must.
  • Desire to learn and apply what you learn immediately is a must.
  • Experience with IP network equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with telco access network equipment is a plus.
  • IP network certifications are a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting telco voice systems.
  • Computer / Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar bachelor’s degrees.
