Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resource Generalist is highly motivated and self-directed to support an inclusive, collaborative, engaged, and diverse workforce.
The position is responsible for administering, interpreting, and supporting Trinity College Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.
A primary focus will include acting as advisor and consultant on employee relations investigations and serving as the leave of absence administrator ensuring adherence to both Trinity Policies and benefits and state and federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Answer questions and counsel employees and managers on Trinity College human resources policies as well as the performance management and disciplinary process.
- Partner with staff, faculty, and leadership to investigate and resolve employee concerns.
- Conduct employee investigations to ensure consistent and fair processes.
- Stay up to date on all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including FMLA, ADA, and Workers Compensation.
- Assist in facilitation of new hire orientation and maintain current slide deck.
- Responsible for planning and execution of employee engagement celebrations and events.
- Develop and execute employee engagement surveys, providing summary reports to AVP of HR and Division leaders.
- Administrator for all leaves of absence, including FMLA, Workers Comp, and ADA accommodation requests.
- Perform other related duties as assigned based on departmental need.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; high school degree required.
- 1-3 years human resources experience required.
- SPHR, PHR certification preferred.
