Summary of Position :
The Chemical Technician III will report directly to the Chemical Foreman and is responsible for improving chemical practices and procedures used to protect the integrity of wells.
This position will maintain a focus on wellbore integrity and facilities with responsibilities that concentrate on chemical deliverability (i.
e., chemical pumps are functioning properly and injecting the proper amount of chemicals), chemical cost control and well optimization.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
- Ensure that chemical pumps are functioning properly and injecting the correct dosage of chemical prescribed for the well to protect well integrity.
- Analyze results of third-party chemical testing, sampling, and reporting, and document findings via chemical usage report.
- Oversee projects in the field and technical support for field testing completed by third party vendors.
- Monitor and document chemical inventories, pump injection rates, pump maintenance costs and parts needed for repairs, etc.
- Monitor automation functionality and efficiency across the field. Maintain parts and calibrations as needed while tracking cost.
- Collect and analyze pipe failure data, provide recommendations to address root causes of failures.
- Assist Chemical Foremen in overseeing H2S monitoring, providing treatments and recommendations for mitigation.
- Leads complex oil and gas research projects or testing initiatives independently.
- Work with production foremen to ensure lease operators in their areas are pumping correct chemicals and rates.

- Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all seasons of the year.
- Operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions to drive to oil and gas equipment located in rural / open range country.
- On -the-job training with less experienced chemical technicians.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with all CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.
- Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Competencies
- Strong mechanical ability and demonstrated ability to optimize downhole chemical deliverability and cost.
- Knowledge of basic oil & gas processing equipment.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., e-mail, Word, Excel).
- Ability to walk along open range / country, dirt roads, inclines / declines, etc. to reach equipment and climb in / out of ditches.
- Ability to repair equipment, as needed, and read equipment gauges on large scale compressor station equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver heavy objects and operate machinery.
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines with a positive and helpful can-do attitude.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe work behavior and habits.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse group.
- Work well with all field team members along with all office support needs.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

- Assure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience :
- 3-5 years’ oil & gas field operations, production chemical, or adjacent field.
- Trade school or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Travel Requirements :
Regular travel to field locations required for both the Midland and Delaware Basins
