Our busy Primary Care / Allergy practice, with offices in Clearwater and Palm Harbor, is seeking a bright, friendly, motivated individual to work as a Medical Assistant-Injection Specialist.

Position is part-time, 16-20 hours per week, Monday and Thursday. Training will take place in our Clearwater office on Tuesdays and Fridays and will take approximately 2-4 weeks prior to starting in Palm Harbor.

This position will requires work in our Palm Harbor office on Mondays and Thursdays. You may also be asked to fill-in occasionally in our Clearwater office on Tuesdays and / or Fridays.

This position requires standing for long periods of time.

The candidate we are seeking must have compassion for patients, a professional appearance, excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong ability to be punctual and have a positive, energetic attitude.

The successful candidate must also submit to and pass a background check.

PRIMARY DUTIES :

• Greet all patients upon arrival at check-in window.
• Perform injections per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
• Give allergy injections to patients.
• Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Relay messages from patients and staff to providers.
• Represent office in a professional manner. Treat all patients, guests, and coworkers in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Maintain patient confidentiality using HIPAA regulations and document information accurately.
• Use appropriate guidelines for releasing patient information.
• Attend required meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certification from approved entity or
• Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved entity or
• 1+ year experience working as a Medical Assistant and performing functions as listed above in Job Responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, must be a team player.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records program.
• Ability to work from both office locations as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Possesses both MA Certification and MA Diploma
• Allergy and / or Primary Care practice experience
• Athenahealth electronic medical record experience
• Experience performing manual blood pressure check, pulmonary function test, and EKG
