Software Engineer
Looking for a talented Software Engineer be part of the Material & Vehicle Logistics + Customs Inbound Logistics IT team.
This individual will identify and implement IT solutions that would map, digitize and automate business processes to bring enhanced transparency and visibility to Ford’s ambitious Inbound Logistics Command Center to highlight opportunities and improve the overall cost for moving material.
This will be a solution supporting operations - meaning the solution will need to be available / robust, scaleable, and monitored to detect and mitigate issues to minimize any production disruption.

You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent
Master level experience in cloud based development and operations (GCP / Azure / AWS / PCF); preference for GCP.
Full stack development using Python or Java and web application development frameworks such as but not limited to JavaScript, REACT, Angular, Karma, , etc.
Can build data transformations using GCP services like Data Fusion, Data Flow; and leverage system integrations using Kafka, Pub / Sub, sFTP, MQ
Ability to synthesize and visualize complex, and occasionally ambiguous concepts and translate them into a list of use-cases or an action plan for the team or organization.
Ability to lead through influence.
Application development in manufacturing logistics environment real-time data transfer, transformation, storage, and reporting capabilities.
Experience working with Agile project management software such Jira or Rally
Strong global business acumen in Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, building trust and driving success across skill teams (business and product) and leadership levels
Experience working with external partners, including industry experts & consortiums, for development and complex integration of industry standards and multi-party solutions. Experience in benchmarking.
Proactive attitude and not afraid to ask question and ability to operate with an Agile mentality in an ambiguous environment.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Willing to work on a highly collaborative team fulfilling different roles and fill gaps
Positive, can-do spirit, to bring alternative options to the product plan mitigating risks and issues
Even better, you may have...
Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT or Business Administration
Working knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) tools and pipelines, such as : (Jenkins, Terraform, SonarQube, Gradle, GitHub).
Can implement / use modern databases (Relational and non-relational) SQL Server, Big Query, Teradata, etc.
Experience with a Transportation Management System, physical events matching to logical correlation of where inventory is in the shipment process.
Proven ability to learn and become productive in new concepts quickly
Behavioral Leadership (ability to handle uncertain situations and build relationships)
Experience leading agile software development practices to solution delivery
High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work autonomously
Ability to work with multi-functional teams for deliverables and timing
Curiosity towards new technologies that may benefit the team and a strong desire to learn
Experience with Design Thinking tools such as Figma, InVision, Miro, Balsamiq, etc.
