We are hiring for a Modern Hip and Upscale new Restaurant in Soho / Tribeca

looking for both an AGM and a strong Beverage Manager.

They are open to hire two different individuals or someone that can incorporate both.

Location : Soho, New York City

Position : Assistant General Manager (AGM) + Beverage Manager

Service Hours : Dinner Service Only

Position Overview :

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant.

This position is ideal for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for hospitality.

The AGM will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service quality, enhancing guest experiences, and maintaining the high standards of our establishment.

As our restaurant is currently open for dinner service only, the AGM will focus on optimizing evening operations, managing staff, and driving guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Operational Management :

  • Assist in managing all aspects of restaurant operations during dinner service, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Oversee daily front-of-house activities, ensuring smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination between the front and back of the house.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

2. Guest Experience :

  • Uphold and enhance our restaurant's reputation for exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
  • Foster a welcoming and positive atmosphere for guests, ensuring personalized service and memorable dining experiences.

3. Staff Management :

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing front-of-house staff to deliver high-quality service.
  • Lead by example, setting the standard for professionalism, teamwork, and a guest-centric approach.
  • Schedule and manage staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operation.

4. Financial Performance :

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, labor costs, and guest satisfaction scores.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement strategies for increasing revenue and controlling costs.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.

5. Marketing and Community Engagement :

  • Support marketing initiatives, including events, promotions, and social media engagement, to attract and retain guests.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, influencers, and community organizations.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in an upscale or fine dining restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems, reservation platforms, and inventory management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by dinner service operations.
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Beverage Director

Upscale Modern and Hip new Restaurant in Soho

The Beverage Manager is pivotal in our successful hospitality group, overseeing a vibrant and dynamic bar scene in the heart of Soho.

As a team member, you will spearhead initiatives, drive development, and ensure the seamless operation of our bar in line with our farm-to-table, art-focused ethos.

We are seeking a highly qualified Beverage Director with administrative experience and a proven track record in developing and refining wine and cocktail programs.

The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in a similar role and hold certification as a sommelier. This individual should possess a polished presence in service and be actively engaged on the floor, fostering strong relationships with guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership and direction to the bar team, driving company initiatives and fostering future development.
  • Ensure adherence to standards in service quality, cocktail consistency, menu development, beer procurement, staff training, and appearance.
  • Supervise day-to-day shift activities, ensuring smooth floor operations.
  • Maintain company standards for service, cleanliness, and quality.
  • Assist the Chef with menu adjustments and education.
  • Develop new cocktail menu items, house specialties, and departmental advancements.
  • Partner with stakeholders on companywide initiatives, projects, and vendor relations.
  • Curate seasonal produce and products in bar menu items.
  • Ensure accurate entry of recipes and beverage costs in the POS system.
  • Manage scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff.
  • Uphold liquor control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain transparent accounting of vendor transactions and promotions.
  • Oversee bar inventory, procurement, and budget management.
  • Manage bar infrastructure maintenance and repairs.
  • Handle customer complaints and conflicts effectively.
  • Assist in planning and executing events.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of the bar program with company vision and ethos.
  • Manage compliance with beverage and liquor laws.
  • Maintain food handling and sanitation standards.

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Assist with financial forecasting, P&L, and cost management.
  • Support wine program management and procurement.
  • Directly manage bar lead positions.
  • Handle barware and glassware inventory management.

Requirements :

  • Understanding of beverage control, inventory management, and cost controls.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of produce seasonality and local purveyors.
  • Adaptability to changing market trends while upholding company brand.
  • TIPS & Food Handlers certification.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to foster a culture of education and teamwork.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift items.

Salary Range :

$90,000 / 125,000 based on experience
