JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of new students into the OUAZ residential campus by using effective enrollment management recruitment techniques and excellent customer service skills that are aligned with Ottawa University’s student centric philosophy.
Generates prospective student and new student enrollments for the Surprise Residential Campus academic degree programs. Requires personal initiative and ongoing communication with applicants to assist them in all phases of the new student enrollment process.
Responsible for achieving measurable enrollment goals and objectives. This position is based out of the Surprise Residential Campus and requires travel, and evening / weekend hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role) :
Responsible for high school visit program at all high schools in the territory in order to establish rapport with high school staff, and to meet set production goals.
Conducts educational and motivational presentation to high school and college transfer students for the purpose of influencing their decisions to pursue higher education options with Ottawa University.
- Advisor obtains leads through school visits and weekly classroom lectures and presentations.
- Responsible for establishing home interview and / or campus visit appointments and conducting in-home or phone interviews to facilitate the enrollment process with student / parents.
- Responsible for attaining a targeted level of campus visits interviews as well as securing a targeted level of applications and deposits as a result of these visits.
In addition, required to meet established new student contact rates. The advisor, prospective student, and parents or guardian will discuss at a more detailed level, the opportunities available to the individual at Ottawa University.
- Responsible for duties related to College Fairs, College Nights and other related programming including : setup and tear down of booth for events, meet and discuss program offerings with prospective high school students visiting college fairs, and foster interest in appointment / interview which leads to campus visits.
- Responsible for Community Colleges and American Baptist as well as other church affiliations (as assigned) in territory through building and maintaining relationships within these areas and seek lead generating opportunities toward new students.
- Facilitates the process required for financial aid application. Encourages prospective students to understand steps for completing financial aid, make use of online tools, explains the process and information needed to attain appropriate types of aid, and refers the student to the appropriate department as needed.
- Manages the process for decision making related to each prospective student’s entry into Ottawa University. Must have knowledge of the University organization, structure, HLC standards.
Requires evaluation of prospective student transcripts and assessment of hours that will be transferrable for each student.
Must understand programs and systems to be able to effectively assist students toward a program that will successfully meet degree requirements.
Each prospective student must meet established criteria for admissions standards.
- Maintains reports in order to track all associated activities and goals and utilizes university CRM system. Responsible for meeting individual targeted new student enrollment goals and assist in accomplishing the overall department goals.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timely entry of all data information pertaining to assigned students in student database systems.
Prepares reports as needed to facilitate enrollment objectives of assigned activity areas.
Applies and utilizes new knowledge, skills gained from learning into daily work assignments to improve individual productivity.
Shows flexibility by accepting coaching tips. Works well with management, team members, and other employees, as well as potential students.
Participates as a team member by understanding team dynamics.
- Acts in a liaison capacity with other campus departments to ensure that the Enrollment Department properly interacts with all areas affecting student enrollments.
- Participates in other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, working with student ambassadors, admissions event planning, weekend visits, phone duty.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION : (education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity) :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE : (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity)
Previous experience in recruiting or sales position. College admissions experience preferred.
