Salary range for this position is : $20.37 / hr. - $23.43 / hr. (depending on experience)

As a part time Cashier, you will be a member of the team that ensures student financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently in order to help students succeed in their educational goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for taking payments, recording them accurately, reconciling accounts, and interfacing with various payment systems and methods.
The Cashier department is an integral part of the Campus Business Office and the District Finance Office. These offices provide administrative and financial support to the college and strive to make it easier for all college staff to support student success.

What you will be working on :
Performs work involving receipt of, and accountability for, funds and maintains control records of cash receipts and disbursements.

- Inputs financial data to student accounts; maintains student financial accounts and records.
- Provides crucial, quality customer service function, including student account reconciliations and assistance to all campus departments with cashiering needs, answering questions and providing information about campus procedures and environment.

What you bring as a candidate : (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
Demonstrated knowledge of cashiering processes, including reconciliation of cash receipts on a daily basis and balancing cash receipts to a daily deposit.
Implementing back up receipting process, when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment, while exhibiting patience, objectivity and understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize various problem situations and provide support if necessary with past due accounts,billing process, and monitoring accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities.
- Demonstrated complex problem solving skills
- Demonstrated effective customer service skills to ensure customer service excellence
- High school diploma or GED and two years' experience in Cashiering or related field.
Physical Requirements :
The Position
Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to Perform duties.
The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
- Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
- Is regularly required to provide 1 : 1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
