Position Details :
- Title : Special Education Team chair / coordinator
- Location : Revere MA
- Duration : Immediate start until June 20th 2025
- Onsite / Virtual : Onsite
- Position Type : Contract
- Working Hours : 8 : 20 am to 3 pm from Monday to Friday
- Student Age Group : Elementary school grades K5
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with directors school principals assistant principals and families to ensure proper implementation of programs.
- Handles Initial and 3 Yr evals and meetings.
- Create and lead efforts for the smooth operation of Special Education services at the school level and across the district.
- Align curricula and foster effective instructional practices while ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Handle initial and threeyear evaluations and meetings.
- Ensure effective delivery of special education instruction and related services at the building level.
- Review and approve Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) written by colleagues.
- Create and facilitate special education professional development for staff.
- Monitor and ensure compliance by the school with all state and federal laws.
- Consult with directors and building administration regarding staffing.
- Facilitate student placement discussions both in and out of the district.
- Attend and facilitate buildingbased meetings as needed.
- Facilitate the initial and reevaluation special education evaluation team process.
- Administer psychoeducational assessments and write evaluation reports.
- Facilitate schoolbased PGT to promote and maintain focus on best practices.
- Colead and serve on the BBST Working Group.
- Collaborate with Special Education Coordinators and CoDirectors of Student Services on a regular basis.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Must be licensed in Special Education.
- Possess a Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
- Be organized and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have experience with testing and IEP meeting facilitation as well as the IEP process and writing.
- Must be licensed for moderate special needs K8 through DESE.
