Forrester Behavioral Health Homes is currently seeking a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional that will work at our home in Maricopa, AZ.
The Behavioral Health Paraprofessional will hold a key role assisting, supporting and teaching the skills necessary to enable residents to achieve their activities of daily living in a 24 hour living situation.
This includes providing 24 hour continuous supervision / monitoring to all residents. Driving residents to their appointments and outings with our company car may also be required.
This position is full time or part time with 8 hour shifts available.
- 8am - 4pm
- 4pm - 12am
- 12am - 8am
We offer competitive pay for this no benefits eligible position. This is a W2 position.
Note : All Behavioral Health positions are awake positions. Sleeping at work is prohibited at all times.
$15-$16 an hour
Qualifications :
- Bilingual - Understands Spanish and speaks it. Preferred but not a necessity.
- Must be at least twenty one years old.
- High School diploma or GED and
- Must be identified as a prospective BHPP candidate by a Behavioral Health Professional; post-secondary education, previous Behavioral Health work experience, and other relevant experience are taken into consideration.
- Must be able to successfully complete assessments under the supervision of a BHP.
- Must be able to remain awake at all times.
- Must have the ability to learn and use Google Workspace which includes Gmail, Google Chat, Google Meet and Google Drive for all company communications.
- Must have First Aid and CPR certification, Fingerprint Clearance Card and a current negative TB test.
Major Responsibilities :
A. Develop and Implement Treatment and Care Plans (ITCP) and / or Individual Support Plan (ISP) Training
- Provide teaching and support in accordance with individual treatment plans, target behavior plans, and cultural preferences.
- Provide supervision / monitoring in accordance with the ITCP’s and level of care.
- Assure all required documentation is complete, legible and written according to policy and standards.
- Complete assessments and provide input into the development of services, goals and objectives.
- Assist residents in arranging medical and behavioral services.
- Serve as a member of the treatment team; assuring that training and daily activities are implemented and documented as scheduled.
- Provide financial management assistance to residents in the residence, as assigned.
- Assist in arranging transportation to day programs, medical appointments and other community activities.
- Assist residents in maintaining contact with their families and friends.
- Assist residents in accessing available community resources.
- Assist residents in achieving treatment goals based upon the recovery philosophy.
B. Monitoring of Medical Concerns
- Assist residents in developing skills or by providing the assistance necessary to monitor health issues and maintain wellness.
- Monitor and document health information concerns on a daily basis.
- Assist residents in medication administration and provide training in order to increase medication knowledge.
- In Outpatient settings, provide medication education to residents.
- Assist residents in scheduling, attending, participating and following recommendations of medical and behavioral health providers.
C. General Duties
- Assure that residents are free from abuse, neglect and / or exploitation and are aware of their rights.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service, clinical oversight and training activities as assigned.
- Conduct and / or participate in fire drills as assigned.
- Participate in investigations as assigned.
- Conduct and document all programming activities according to policy
- Assure home is clean, neat, safe, orderly, and in compliance with company standards and expectations, and Office of Behavioral Health Licensure.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all company, employee and client information, according to company policy.
- Follow all policies and procedures
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by a supervisor.
